Powered by WordPress T-Shirt

Last month I entered the Village of Alanson website into a contest – for sites designed with WordPress. Well I’m pleased to say it was chosen as one of the five “coolest WordPress-powered sites” entered into the contest held over at WPShirts.com.

For those who have yet to hear about WPShirts, their purpose is to “promote and spread the use of WordPress as the premiere online software tool for blogs and websites it is… by giving away free WP shirts that get people asking and talking about all things WP.”

Thanks for the tee WPShirts, and thanks for helping make the WordPress community what it is… simply great!

IE6 Will No Longer Be Supported

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

IE6 UnsupportedLast week Google announced that they will no longer be supporting Internet Explorer 6.

In order to continue to improve our products and deliver more sophisticated features and performance, we are harnessing some of the latest improvements in web browser technology. This includes faster JavaScript processing and new standards like HTML5. As a result, over the course of 2010, we will be phasing out support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 as well as other older browsers that are not supported by their own manufacturers.

It has been a long time…

Time

It has been a very long time (almost 17 months) since I posted something in this blog. 2009 was a very busy year — work wise — for me, and I neglected not only this blog, but my entire site. After a few potential clients asked me for examples of my work, I noticed I hadn’t updated my portfolio in 14+ months. So, for the last few weeks I redesigned the website, updated the portfolio and finally designed the blog section to match the rest of the site.

Now that the entire site is 98% complete, I’d like to get into the habit of posting here more often — when time permits.

Website Redesign Noted in Michigan Newspapers

Saturday, February 2nd, 2008

There is a nice little write-up in the Observer & Eccentric Newspapers regarding the recent website redesign I did for the Building Industry Association of Southeastern Michigan. Here is a couple of excerpts from the article:

Building Industry Association of Southeastern Michigan also announced the launch of its new Web site at www.builders.org. The site offers a wealth of information for potential and current home owners including access to a list of professional master builders who have homes available in communities throughout southeastern Michigan.

The Web site also features a separate section for members of BIA and AAM that can be accessed using the member’s personal identification code.

HomeTownLife.com has the entire article on their website.
