The Survey For People Who Make Websites

A List Apart (ALA) is holding its annual web design survey. 2010 is the fourth year of “The Survey For People Who Make Websites”.
The survey is focused on people who work in the web industry, and topics include salary ranges, titles, working conditions, educational backgrounds, health care, gender, ethnicity, etc.
It takes no more than 5 minutes to complete, and will provide its findings in the near future — like those from the 2009 Web Design Survey.

406 Error Fix

Are you or others receiving a 406 error when visiting your site? Most likely it is caused by mod_security, which acts as a firewall to protect web application attacks.
The solution maybe as-easy-as adding the following to your .htaccess file in-order to disable mod_security:
<IfModule mod_security.c> SecFilterEngine Off SecFilterScanPOST Off </IfModule>

Best Free Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware Solutions

I get asked all the time from friends, family and even clients, “whats the best anti-virus program?”. Before the person asks however, they usually already have a problem. Therefore, this post will serve as a place to refer them when they need to prevent and/or remove pesky viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware, or other malware.
